These photos show 8" × 8" light amber Dalle de Verre glass slabs with a warm, translucent character that changes dramatically with the surrounding light.

Visual description

The glass has a soft honey-amber, pale olive-gold coloration. In ordinary reflected light, it appears subdued and earthy, with a slightly greenish cast. When placed in strong daylight or held against a window, however, the color becomes much more luminous—turning into a warm golden yellow with olive undertones.

The slabs have the characteristic substantial, cast-glass appearance of Dalle de Verre. Their surfaces are not perfectly optically smooth; instead, they contain numerous small bubbles, fine inclusions, subtle flow marks, and variations within the glass. These imperfections are particularly attractive when the slab is illuminated because they scatter and catch the light.

The photographs also reveal a fascinating depth effect. Looking through the slab, the darker central form and variations in thickness create areas of deeper olive and amber. This gives the material considerably more visual complexity than a flat sheet of uniformly colored glass.
